Preventing and minimizing the effects of war on women
Country of implementation
Sudan / North Kordofan
Uganda / Kampala
It is a project designed for women and girls who were affected by the April 15 war because of all the violence inflicted on them.
Taa Feminization Feminist Association implemented the project in two parts, targeting women and girls inside and outside the displacement camps.
The project included the following activities
1-The Taa Al-Taanith Feminist Association distributed 450 hygiene kits to girls and women in displacement camps in El Obeid, North Kordofan.
2-Taa Al-Taanith Association conducted a visit to the "Kriendangua" refugee camp on August 6, 2024. The visit aimed to provide aid, support, and solidarity with Sudanese women in the camp. During the visit, the association distributed 500 hygiene kits and created a space for women to express the dire humanitarian conditions they are experiencing—starting with the harsh realities of displacement and the difficult living conditions, including the struggle to access basic needs such as food and menstrual hygiene products. They also highlighted the challenges in obtaining women-specific healthcare services and reproductive health support.
Since the outbreak of war in Sudan, Sudanese women have borne the heaviest and most severe burdens. Therefore, we call on all women’s organizations, civil society bodies, and both national and international organizations to direct support and resources to displaced and refugee Sudanese women wherever they are, and to use platforms and forums to amplify their voices and advocate for their causes.
